What is the
maximum disk space, RAM and CPU that can
be allocated to a plan?
The maximum
disk space is currently 1,000GB (1TB),
the maximum amount of RAM is 2GB and the
maximum amount of CPU is a guaranteed
250% and a maximum of 300% of an AMD
2400 CPU. This allows a plan
to burst to 3 AMD 2400 CPU's.
Will
there be a service interruption to add
CPU, RAM or disk space?
Additional
memory and CPU can be added with a
simple restart of your account.
When disk space is added a new container
will be created with the large size then
data is mirrored to the new container.
This typically takes 2 minutes per GB
and does not require any configuration
or IP changes.
What happens
when the server farm runs out of disk
space, RAM or CPU?
Additional
servers are added. This can be
done with no service interruption.
What happens
if a server farm crashes? Does the whole
farm fail?
If any of
the servers fail your applications and
mirrored data would be automatically
redeployed on the next available server.
This takes roughly 5 minutes and has no
human intervention. If the controller
was to go down then the entire farm will
reboot and resync itself. This process
takes 10-15 minutes with no human
intervention needed.
Will
the farm ever need maintenance?
The farm runs on a OS just like all
servers. ALL OS's require updates and
regular maintenance to keep them secure
and stable. This may require a 1-2 hour
window every 30-60 days. This will
be less frequent as the product matures.
All updates will be done with 3-5 days
notice.
